remove yellow stains from nails

Do you take time to check the status of your nail health? They may be telling you something. Let’s talk about it……

With all the abuse we put our nails through, your nails need a break. I change my nail polish once a week. I also give myself a few days in between to allow my nails to breathe. While the polish is off, take a minute to really look at your nails. They can tell you a lot about your health.

Yellow Nails

Yellow nails that are not infected can be removed with this simple mix I use this on my nails every few months or whenever is needed.  If your nails worsen, you may have a fungal infection. If this is the case, you will need to see a doctor so they can provide some oral medication.

Dark Lines

Dark vertical lines on your nails may be a sign of melanoma. I am always watching for new spots on my body because I’ve had a few dark spots that needed to get biopsied. I know for me, checking my nails is not a place I would of thought to look.

Pitting are small cracks or depressions that are on the nail beds. This can be a sign of Psoriasis. My children suffer from Psoriasis so I am always doing some sort of research making sure it doesn’t spread. If you see this on your nails or scaly red patches on your body, go see your doctor. They can provide a topical, oral, or injected medications depending on the severity.

Brittle Nails

Do you have brittle or really thin nails? We all crack our nails from time to time but if your nails crack at the slightest touches, you may want a doctor to check for any thyroid issues.

Don’t be afraid to call up your doctor and ask questions. That is what they’re there for. Make sure to let your toe and finger nails breathe especially if you wear fake nails.
