Essie Gel Setter Top Coat Review

TinyTipsByMichelle

I am reviewing the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat Polish today and if you’re someone that loves to do your nails at home then keep reading……I walked into Walgreen’s a couple of days ago to get milk and saw this little guy staring at me. Okay, more like, I was staring at him but that’s not important. I knew he had to come home with me and so he did!!

This is a new product that Essie has released and it’s a gel setter top coat polish. You’re suppose to use a base coat, two polish coats, and then add this top coat. It’s suppose to work as a gel finish and last longer then your regular manicure polish would. Almost like a cheat polish if you don’t want to spend the money on nail salon prices.

When I opened the bottle my first reaction was, it’s thick.  I’m not a fan of thick formulas as they don’t go on very well. This was different, it went on perfectly, smoothed out any imperfections on my nails, and the dry time was amazing. I have to say, within 10 minutes my nails were ready for me to walk out the door. This is not the case with my regular manicures. I have to wait at least 20 minutes minimum and still be very careful not to mess them up.

It says to use the Essie gel setter top coat with Essie nail polishes but it works with any type of nail polish brands you may have at home. The picture above is two coats of Essie Marshmallow and one coat of the Essie gel setter top coat. I did not use a base coat.  I have had this polish on for 6 days now and they haven’t chipped once. I’m very hard on my hands so a regular manicure only last 3-4 days tops before I have to paint them again. It leaves a really amazing shine when dried and it enhances your colors and glitters that you have on your nails.

I love the fact that you don’t have to use those UV lamps and some gel polishes are impossible to remove. This gel setter top coat comes off with ease using your regular nail polish remover.

I spoke with the young lady at the register and she said this product is very popular and they sell out quickly. I guess I’m not the only one that LOVES this stuff. If you find it, don’t hesitate to purchase it because it’s a great product. Essie you did your thing!! This gel setter definitely has a place  in my manicure kit!!!
