Today we are talking about my pantry organization. I will give you a peek into my pantry and show you how I organize it. I don’t have toddlers so this works great for me. My youngest son is 10 years old.
I Love having a pantry! My apartment in NY does not have a pantry so I have to store everything in cabinets. I also used the door to utilize more space. I put smaller things that tend to get lost easier in there.
The top shelf, I store things that I don’t use on an everyday basis. I have a magazine holder (from Walmart $3.50) that I store all my recipe magazines & some cook books. I used a lid organizer (from Big Lots $3.50) to store all my baking pans & wood bread tray. I keep the coffee machine up there cause it only gets used when my mom is here.
I also have a fire extinguisher on the side of the shelf. Every kitchen should have one!
I added the shelf liner to the shelves. It just helps things stay upright. Nothing more annoying than items falling over from the gaps on the shelves. Here are some glass containers that I purchased from Walmart. They hold my most used items. Each container has little scoops inside so I don’t have to take the whole thing out when I need to use it. The scoops were also purchased from Walmart for $.98 cents. The containers ranged for $3.00-$10 each. I just used my label maker to write what’s inside each container.
*notice the spaghetti container doesn’t have spaghetti…LOL* I only have containers for the pastas I use o a regular basis. I bought these containers from the Dollar Tree ($1 each) I love these cause they hold 2-3 boxes of pasta (depending on the size) They also have a little opening on top where you can pour out the amount you need.
I purchased this 3 tier expandable shelf from Ross for $4.00 It is not fully expanded. It can hold 3 more rows of cans if I needed it to.
Who doesn’t love a Lazy Susan? Best invention ever Lol…. This just holds my bigger items like oils & breadcrumbs etc
I have everything else categorized by groups in pretty big baskets. These baskets I had re-purposed from a coffee table and 2 side tables I had from my last house. This one is labeled “Boxed Meals.” I put things like Mac ‘n’ Cheese, pasta sides, boxed mashed potatoes etc. I use regular index cards and post it notes to make the labels. Used my 3 hole puncher to make the holes. Then tied a bow with twine (bought the twine from The Dollar Tree)
This boxed is labeled “Snacks” The snacks in her are usually individually wrapped and the kids go in and out with no problem. This is the bin that is hard to keep full and the items are constantly changing.
The last bin is labeled “Breakfast” This bin gets used a lot!! My son likes to grab Pop Tarts in the morning when he is running late for the bus. I also sneak the cake frosting in there too.
The rule with the bins are, we only buy enough to fill the bin.
I forgot we are cereal fanatics in this house. We have at least 6-7 cereals at all times. They take up half a shelf alone
I keep heavy and extra items on the floor. I have a Tupperware for rice, extra case of water and Gatorade. With football season here, we go through a ton of drinks! We do have water containers we use too.
I have 3 door organizers. This one holds some more smaller seasonings that I use. I put these on the door cause they would fall over everywhere on the shelves.
This one just holds some random things like baking soda, baking powder, My parents sugars when they come visit from Puerto Rico etc
This is like the drink section. I LOVE my Crystal Light and always have tons of them in the pantry, Hot chocolate for the 3 days out the year it gets cold here in FL. I also get samples in the mail. I just put them in here too
Well that is how I organize my pantry. Hope I can help you guys with some ideas Let me know how you organize your pantry.
Have fun organizing!!!
